Ms Mayra joined the Cosmic Montessori Community in December 2011 and serves as an AMI Toddler Guide in the Serenity Toddler Classroom. Born in Mexico and raised in Aurora, Illinois, she graduated from West Aurora High School in 2006.

Ms. Mayra’s passion for working with young children began through her volunteer work at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where she assisted in an aquatic program for children with special needs. This experience sparked a deep interest in child development and inspired her to pursue a path in early childhood education. She continued her educational journey by studying Early Childhood Education, allowing her to further develop her understanding of the developmental needs of young children and the importance of creating nurturing, respectful learning environments.

As an AMI Toddler Guide, Ms. Mayra is dedicated to supporting each child’s growing independence, confidence, and sense of belonging within the classroom community. Her calm presence, patience, and genuine care for children help create a peaceful environment where toddlers are able to explore, discover, and develop at their own pace. Families and children are naturally drawn to her warmth and dedication, and we are grateful to have her as a valued member of the Cosmic Montessori School community.
